After the enormous success of Iberica in Marylebone comes the brilliant Iberica Canary Wharf restaurant, offering an authentic and first class taste of Spain to London’s Docklands. Iberica cleverly combines traditional Spanish cuisine with a contemporary twist with menus created by Executive Chef Nacho Manzano of the 2 Michelin starred Casa Marcial. The Lazaro Rosa Violan designed dining room boasts two separate mezzanines as well as a superb open kitchen. Dark wood, ceramic floor tiles and shelves full of wine bottles provide the Spanish touch and a huge bull’s head above the central bar provides the stereotypical symbol.
Tuck into typical Spanish tapas from croquetas to tortilla and patatas bravas to pimientos Padron or perhaps more innovative choices from sea urchin aioli to chorizo lollipops. The various “jamones” are incredible and range from the more affordable to some of the best in the world and all are hand carved to order.
The all-Spanish wine list is impressive and matches the menu well. Iberica Canary Wharf is a welcome addition to the thriving dining scene of East London’s financial district, taking Spanish dining in London to an exciting new level.
