Silk is a luxurious fine dining restaurant, and one of the three dining areas in the five-star Courthouse Hotel Kempinski opposite Liberty's on Great Marlborough Street.

Housed in a former magistrates court, Silk restaurant is the architectural focal point of the ground floor of the hotel, having been converted from the old Number One court. The room is covered by a huge vaulted glass ceiling and is framed by original English Oak panelling. The Judges bench, dock and witness stand have been kept in their original setting and greatly compliment the style of the restaurant. Silk’s style of menu is derived from the historical “Silk Road, a series of routes that criss-crossed Eurasia over land and sea encouraging trade from the first millennium BCE.

Silk’s menu therefore takes the diner down the historical ‘silk route’, through Italy, the Middle East and Asia, providing exemplary dishes from the different cuisines with a la carte and tasting menus and including dishes like Kung samrot – king prawns with garlic and fresh spices, Kai haw bai toey – coriander root and pandan leaf wrapped chicken thigh, Stuffed crab – fresh spices infused cock crabs stuffed and served with raw mango salad & delicious desserts such as Hazelnut crusted chocolate fondant – raspberry and tirfala ice cream and orangette or Satin chocolate marquise – blood orange and mint soup, cherry and ginseng sorbet.

With its talented team, innovative menu and unique setting, Silk has become a popular addition to the London restaurant scene & is well worth visiting both for it’s amazing decor and mouth-watering Asian cuisine.
