With a whole bunch of enthusiastic reviews under its belt from the likes of Michelin, Tatler and Zagat to name a few, Le Vacherin in Chiswick, South West London, is a seriously good French restaurant. At the helm of this Gallic gem is acclaimed Chef Malcolm John, whose skill and expertise has also gained the restaurant one star from the Egon Ronay Guide.

The setting is charming, just like a Parisian bistro and the space has been divided up into several small dining rooms offering a delightful intimacy. But it is the menu that is the real star of this show where dishes are supremely authentic and so well executed. Well worth a mention are the braised veal cheeks with sage gnocchi, celeriac purée and summer vegetables whole sea bream with brown shrimp butter, roasted Jerusalem artichokes and spinach and red leg partridge with ceps, truffle jus and pomme mousseline. Save some space for the all French cheeseboard as well as the baked le Vacherin cheese. The wine list features some very fine French grapes and perfectly matches the menu. If you love French food head over to Chiswick and enjoy a meal at Le Vacherin.
